Part 1 — Ideas
What is an Idea?
An Idea is a potential solution or initiative that addresses one or more Insights. It's the bridge between "here's what customers are experiencing" and "here's what we might build". Ideas are evaluated, scored, and promoted to the Roadmap — and eventually converted into Features when approved for execution.
Idea fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | A short, clear name for the initiative |
| Description | Rich text detail — what it is, why it matters |
| Effort | 1–5 scale: how hard is this to build? |
| Impact | 1–5 scale: how much value will this deliver? |
| Confidence | 1–5 scale: how confident are you in the problem and solution? |
| Goal | Link to a Vision & Goals item for strategic alignment |
AI Score
When AI is configured, Kansov calculates a Priority Score for each Idea using your Effort, Impact, and Confidence ratings. The AI can also generate a narrative explanation of the score.
Idea Portal
A public (or password-protected) page where customers, stakeholders, or internal teams can submit ideas directly. Enable in Settings → Product Configuration → Idea Portal.
Converting an Idea to a Feature
When an Idea is approved for execution, click Convert to Feature. This creates a Feature record pre-filled with the Idea's title and description, and automatically links the Feature back to the Idea and its linked Goal.
Part 2 — Roadmap
Now / Next / Later
- Now — current focus. Ideas you're actively working on or have approved for the current period.
- Next — committed for the next period. Ideas that are prioritized and planned but not yet started.
- Later — future consideration. Ideas that are interesting but not yet prioritized.
Managing the Roadmap
- Add an Idea to the Roadmap — open the Idea detail panel and click Add to Roadmap, then choose a bucket
- Move between buckets — drag an Idea from one bucket to another
- Reorder within a bucket — drag Ideas up and down to communicate priority order
Strategic alignment tip: Ideas linked to active Goals will show a goal indicator badge on the Roadmap — making it easy to see whether your roadmap is driving your stated priorities.
