Personal Tools

Six tools that help you manage your day as a PM — from your morning briefing to a running log of everything you've been thinking about.

Personal tools are cross-cutting. They don't belong to one lifecycle stage — they support your entire work as a PM. Use them alongside every other Kansov module throughout your day.

Today View

The Today View is your morning briefing and daily command center. It surfaces the things that need your attention today — not everything in your workspace, just what's relevant right now.

What Today shows

  • To-Dos due today — tasks you've assigned a due date of today, plus any overdue items
  • Insights queue — recently captured Insights that haven't been triaged yet
  • Meetings — calendar events happening today (synced from your connected calendar)
  • Upcoming Releases — releases with target dates approaching in the next 14 days
  • @Mentions — comments and notifications where you've been mentioned

Scratchpad

The Scratchpad is a daily writing space — like a PM's notebook built into Kansov. It's designed for free-form thinking: jotting down observations, working through a problem, or capturing meeting notes.

Key features

  • Date navigation — each day has its own scratchpad entry
  • Auto-save — everything you type is saved automatically as you write
  • #tag Insights inline — type #tag-name anywhere and a real Insight record is created and linked
  • Search — search across all your scratchpad entries
  • Pop-out window — open the Scratchpad in a separate focused window

Tip: Use the Scratchpad during customer calls. When a customer mentions a pain point, type # and a short label — an Insight is created immediately without interrupting your flow.

To-Dos

A personal task list for managing your own work — separate from Feature tasks, which belong to the Execute stage. To-Dos support due dates, recurrence, and different types including Regular Reads.

Calendar

The Calendar view consolidates all date-based items — meetings from your connected calendar, Feature target dates, and Release dates — in one view. Connect Google Calendar, Outlook, or an ICS URL in Settings → Calendar Sync.

Knowledge Hub

A structured knowledge base for research artifacts — competitor analysis, user personas, market research, meeting notes, and reference documents. Entries use rich text and support semantic search when AI is configured.
